Breezefur ducked out of the nursery, and glanced around camp. It was a fairly nice day, with the sun shining and a cool breeze blowing through. Though their Clan was still relatively small, so she couldn't see anyone out in the open of their main camp. Instead, the she-cat turned to the medicine cats' den. She wasn't sick or injured, she just thought it would be nice to pay the medicine cat a visit, for whatever reason.
The tabby slipped into the den, and stood still for a few heartbeats as her green eyes adjusted to the sudden lack of bright sunshine. Then she glanced around for the tom. "Hello?" Breezefur called out. The den wasn't large enough so that someone could actually be hiding from her on the other side, but she called out anyway, just so that there wasn't a large chance of her startling the medicine cat.

Hummingflight was at the other side of the den, sorting herbs. He had a little song for it. 'This little herb is burdock root. Burdock root. Burdock root. This little herb is burd. Ock. Root.' and so on... He heard someone call out. He turned to see Breezefur. "Hello." he mewed.

She caught sight of Hummingflight at the other end of the den, and dipped her head when he turned around and returned her greeting. "How are you doing today, Hummingflight?" Breezefur glanced to where he was standing and realized that the medicine cat was sorting herbs. Obviously. That's why he's a medicine cat. She told herself.
"I hope I'm not bothering you, am I?" The queen added quickly, hoping she hadn't interrupted something too important. Then she would leave.

"Oh, no come on in. It's Greenleaf, not like we get sick cats in this season." he mewed. It was true, all he has to do is get enough herbs for Leaf-bare. "How are you today?" he asked

She nodded, glad she hadn't intruded on anything. "It must be nice and peaceful in your den during Greenleaf, huh?" Breezefur asked, as she padded further into the den before answering the second question. "I'm good. How about you?" She replied, while taking a seat where she was.

"Indeed." he mewed. "And I'm fine. It would be nice to have an apprentice around here though. It's kinda lonely, and I could use the help." he shrugged.

Breezefur nodded. "I can feel that. I'm pretty much the only one in the nursery. I mean, there's Hollystep, but I barely see her. Even when I do, it's not like we talk." She replied, thinking of how depressing the nursery was. Oh, what I would give for at least a couple of kits in there to bring up the mood.

"Yeah.." he sighed. "The path of the Medicinecat is a lonely one... But I knew that when I vowed to serve my clan this way." he mewed

"Though it must be nice being able to heal your clanmates, right? Have a warrior come in injured or sick, and you'll know immediately how to treat them." Breezefur said, thinking of herself, and how she loved the idea of raising the future warriors of ThunderClan. It was a nice thought, and she could imagine healing them would feel good too.

"Yes, though I feel warriors don't appreciate it much..." he admitted. "Just a goodbye and they leave."

She rolled her eyes. "If they can't appreciate that someone can heal their broken leg and they were the ones who broke it in the first place, they honestly don't deserve your attention." Breezefur knew of the stupid things apprentices and young warriors, maybe even the older warriors, would do to prove themselves to fellow clanmates, or maybe just out of boredom. Even if the warrior had received their injury through battle, the medicine cat deserved a thanks. It was one cat healing the rest of the Clan.

"I suppose so... Sometimes I wish I could do normal things. Like having a mate, or even kits..." he mewed

She blinked, a bit surprised when she heard Hummingflight's next words. "Oh ..." Breezefur shifted, feeling somewhat awkward in the sudden turn of conversation. "Yeah, well, sometimes I wish the rest of the Clan wouldn't treat me like I'm different from the rest of the Clan, especially when I'm not expecting. They all treat me like I need help from them, like I'm weaker or something." She said, trying to bring the subject away from mates and kits.

"They just wanna make sure you're okay." he mewed. "Though I know how you feel." he have her a smile. "You're a very nice shecat."

"That's my point. They don't go around, constantly fussing over the other warriors, do they? They make sure I'm okay because I'm a queen." Breezefur said with a slight sigh, then blinked at the compliment. "Thanks. You're a nice tom." She replied.
