In the middle of ThunderClan territory was a orange tom with dull yellow eyes. He smiled to himself and let out a happy sigh, he didn't know why he was so happy. He padded, proudly through the undergrowth and spotted a mouse nibbling on a seed. He crouched down and stalked closer to the piece of prey. His muscles rippled beneath his dark orange coat. Lionstrike pounced on the mouse and quickly killed it. He buried the mouse and hoped someone would be of company.

She wasn't expecting, so she basically had the same privileges and duties as a warrior, except she had to sleep in the nursery. On this day, Breezefur padded out of camp and decided to go hunting. As she made her way through the undergrowth, her jaws were slightly parted to let in the scents of prey. It was then that a scent of a ThunderClan warrior reached her.
She paused where she was, knowing it was likely that the other was hunting as well. Then Breezefur quickly scanned the area, trying to locate him or her. She caught sight of a flash of dark gold, and watched as the warrior pounced whatever prey he had previously been stalking. Then the tabby she-cat started walking towards him. "Good morning." She greeted with a smile.

Lionstrike turned his head to see a tabby she-cat, one of the queens. He dipped his head respectfully to Breezefur. "Hello, Breezefur. What brings you out in the territory?" The orange tom sat down and wrapped his tail around his paws, looking at the tabby queen in front of him. He had never really spoken to her or much looked at her. Breezefur had unique green eyes. His were just a dull yellow, nothing special about them.

Breezefur had an amused gleam in her eyes as Lionstrike asked her why she was in the territory. "Why, can't a queen hunt? Furthermore, a queen with neither kits to take care of nor is expecting." She said, still wearing her gentle smile from earlier. If she could've heard his thoughts about her 'unique' green eyes, she would've fell down laughing. Green was just as common as yellow for an eye color, if not more so.

Lionstrike lightly chuckled at the comment. "I suppose you are allowed to hunt without kits to tend to. Now, of you were expecting I would have no choice but to send you back to camp." He gently teased her, but it was in fact, true because if it were his kits, he wouldn't allow her to leave camp without him by her side. He knew one day he would make a great father to his own kits.

"And what makes you think I would listen to you?" She replied, having fun with their gentle banter. But if Breezefur was in fact expecting a litter, she wouldn't dare step out into the territory. Not only because she wouldn't want to face over-protective warriors, but because she wanted to avoid any threats that might put unborn kits in danger.

Lionstrike stood up and crouched down into a hunter's crouch, then playfully sprang at Breezefur. He attempted to knock her to the forest floor. "I am stronger than you." He smiled and for once he felt like he was back in the nursery with his mother, and he use to try and play with his mothers' tail. She always use to groom him to make him stop messing with her tail.

She let out a yelp of alarm as she was bowled over onto the ground by Lionstrike. But she grinned at him anyway. "Well, that you may be, but what are you going to do? Drag me back to camp if I don't listen?" Breezefur teased, feeling light and happy by talking to him.

Lionstrike swiped his tail tip over Breezefur's nose. "You know, I might just do that. Great idea." The orange tom lowered his face closer to the queen's and spoke softly. "What are you going to do if I do drag you back?" Of course, he wouldn't really do that to a cat, especially a queen of the clan that provides a clan new members.

Breezefur was still grinning at his reply, when she blinked, suddenly aware of how close Lionstrike was to her. She mentally shruged it off. "Then I suppose I'd report you to Foxstar for providing possible danger to unborn kits." She stated simply, knowing that it was what she'd do if he did actually drag her back. Watching out for own health or not, anyone who could harm her kits would be reported.

Lionstrike never knew that Breezefur could be so serious about things but they were talking about her health. "Oh...Please don't do that." He stepped away from Breezefur and looked down, wondering if she would do that if it were his kits. Why am I thinking like this? She doesn't like me. He thought to himself and shrugged it off. "What did you want to do besides hunt?"

She waited for him to back up, then rolled over and climbed to her paws. "I doubt you'd drag me back to camp anyway." Breezefur said quietly, and silence was starting to fill the air when Lionstrike started speaking again. "What did you want to do besides hunt?" "I don't know ... I only came out here to hunt, really. But it's been nice getting some fresh air, too."

Lionstrike shook his head, to show that he wouldn't do something like that. "I wouldn't do it to a clanmate, especially to a queen." He looked around and scented the air for signs of prey. The orange tom scented a squrriel and he looked above them and spotted the creature up in a tree. He started to climb the tree, just as the squirrel began to run away from him. Lionstrike let out a growl and chased after it once he was up in the tree with it.
Lionstrike finally caught up with the furry animal and dug his claws into its tail so it wouldn't run any farther from him. He killed it with a quick bite to the neck and dropped it to the ground. He jumped from the lowest branch, landing on his paws.

She opened her mouth to reply, but he'd already run off to hunt a squirrel. She shut her mouth again, staying silent and still as Lionstrike chased the squirrel, then killed it. "Nice." Breezefur blinked, as the tom leaped off the bottom branch. Then she walked towards the side, jaws parted to let in scents, hoping to catch some of her own prey. Whoops. It must seem like I'm leaving Lionstrike behind .. oh well. I came out here to hunt, and that's what I'm doing.
She shut down her thoughts as the scent of a mouse reached her, and caught sight of it soon after. The dark tabby immediately dropped into a hunter's crouch, slowly sliding her paws over the slightly grassy ground as she stalked it. When Breezefur was close enough, she bunched her haunches and pounced, one paw catching the mouse and holding it down while she bent down to give it a killing bite. The rodent fell limp in under her paw, and she gave a quick thanks to StarClan as she headed back to Lionstrike.

Lionstrike watched as Breezefur ran off to go catch something, but he didn't know what. He soon scented a mouse and Breezefur had pounced on it and killed it with a bite to the neck. He kept his eyes on the tabby she-cat as she started walking back to him. "Great catch, that's a really nice one." Lionstrike smiled and looked at his squrriel. He picked it up and buried it next to his mouse that he had caught earlier. It seemed to him that Breezefur was a really nice cat, and that was quite unusual for a queen. "Breezefur, have you ever had kits before?" He asked the queen, if he hasn't had kits then why was she in the Nursery? If she was waiting to have kits that made sense to go ahead and move in.
